Hadith-a-day

The Holy Prophet [saw] said:

"The destruction of my female followers is in two things: gold and immodest
clothes; and the destruction of my male followers lies in abandoning knowledge
and compiling wealth."

The Holy Prophet (s) Said:

I left with you two weighty things: The Quran and my Ahlulbayt...If you kept holding onto them you never go astray.

Imam Sadiq (a.s) quoted on the authority of Imam Baqir (a.s):

"The story of a greedy man in this world is similar to the story of a silk worm. The more silk it winds around itself, the harder it will get for it to exit, until it finally dies in grief."

Imam Sadiq Said:

Who ever takes his Sallah lightly will never recieve our blessings on the last day.(Day of judgment)

" The Sillest person is the one who thinks himself is the wisest " (Imam Ali)

A man asked the holy prophet(saw) who he shold respect the most in his life. The holy prophet said: " Your mother." The guy then asked for a second time and he said: " Your mother." Again the man asked for a third time and the prophet still replied: "Your mother." For the last time the man asked and then finally the holy prophet said: " Your father."

Imam Sadiq (as): The greatest (as in worse) stealer is the one who steals time from his prayer.

The Holy Prophet (saaw) said: "Train your children in three things: the love of your Prophet, the love of his Progeny, ie Ahlul-Bayt, and recitation of the Quran."

The Holy Prophet (saaw) said: "Do not look at the minuteness of the sin, but see Whom you have sinned against."

Imam Hussain (as) said: "By my soul, there is no Imam but he issues judgement upon the Book, establishes justice, believes in the religion of Truth, and restrains his self alongside the way of Allah (swt)."

It is narrated that the Prophet Mohammad pbuh has said that Allah the Almighty has said,

I have a great problem with man. I created him, but he worships others. I gave him his daily bread, but he thanks others. I cut off his daily bread, but he complains to others about it.

Imam Baqir (as) said: "He who repents of his sins is as the one who has not any (burden of) sin."

Imam As-Sadiq (as) has said:

A Muslim always has three characteristics: knowledge about the deen,
good management of life, and perseverance in the face of calamities.

The Holy Prophet (saaw) said: "Affliction caused by the tongue is worse than (that caused by) the strike of the blade of a sword."

Imam Ali (AS):
One who places himself as a leader for people should begin with educating his own self before others and his training of others should be through his conduct before his tongue. A teacher and an instructor of his self is more worthy of exaltation than one who is a teacher and an instructor of others

Imam Amir-ul-Mu'mineen Ali (as) said: "The listener to backbiting is the same as the backbiter."

Prophet (saw) has said:

'When the two angels who record the deeds take your letter of deeds
to Allah, and He see's that it is good in the beginning and at the
end, He will tell the angels, `witness that I forgive My servant due
to both ends of his letter of deeds.'

The Holy Prophet (saaw) said: "Man is influenced by the faith of his friends. Therefore, be careful of whom you associate with."

Imam Ali (as) has said: If a woman has pride, she can not be touched, If she is Stingy she can safe guard her husbands wealth and if she is fearful she will not accept everything that comes her way.

Imam Sadiq (as) said: "My most beloved brother is he who (makes me aware of) my faults."

Imam Ali(AS):
If poverty was man i would kill him.

The Holy Prophet (saaw) said: "A man's word telling his wife: 'I love you' never will quit her heart."

ahhh, so cute.

The Holy Prophet [s] said: "The most (important ) things that cause people to reach Heaven are divine piety and a good temper."

Imam Amir-ul-Mu'mineen Ali (as) said: "Having the Greatness of the Creator in your mind would make you realise the insignificance of the creatures in your view."
